Project Overview
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) initiated a foundation expansion for an existing 115 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS). The project required the design and integration of engineered foundations and elevated access platforms to support various types of gas-insulated equipment, including a formed-in-place cable trench system. Commonwealth was selected as the Engineer of Record to lead the GIS substation slab expansion. The scope included the design of an elevated steel access platform system with ladders, steps, and OSHA-compliant working surfaces—ensuring both safety and operational efficiency.

- Substation Engineering: Designed the GIS slab expansion to accommodate new gas-insulated equipment and trench systems.
